Job description

We are currently hiring Disability and Mental Health Support Workers to provide services to our rapidly growing community at HHCC. 

HHCC is a growing team of support personnel dedicated to offering an empowering support experience, and make a difference to the lives of people with disability or mental health condition and help gain the optimum level of their skills and capabilities, to gain their independence, and participate in various community and societal activities.

About the roles:

At HHCC, we provide psychosocial, mental health and SIL & SDA Accommodation services in Penrith, Blue Mountains and Nepean, Hawkesbury and Richmond area. HHCC has expanded its services to a space of 5 acres with a unique model called LASH @ Castlereagh and HASH @ Hawkesbury. 

We are currently looking for a Support Worker local to the Hawkesbury/Nepean area. 

We also require Psychosocial Support Workers in Katoomba, Wisemans Ferry, and the Lithgow/Portland area.

 Task Duties:

  • Offering mentoring, companionship and social support to the clients
  • Assisting clients with community re-engagement and therapy coaching
  • Transporting and accompanying clients to and from appointments and other social engagements
  • Working individually with clients to assist and achieve therapeutic goals.
  • Working closely to achieve their NDIS Goals and plan activities accordingly.
  • Help in personal grooming ,health & hygiene and self care.
  • Help in understanding and building rapport with others in the society 

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Cert IV in Mental Health or similar qualifications (or working towards)
  • Ability to support clients to meet their individual goals
  • Minimum one year experience working in with Mental Health or trauma
  • Ability to develop skills and encourage independence & healthy relationships
  • Current First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate
  • Hold a Current Full Driver’s License
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Computer Literacy and ability to use technology for report writing and progress notes
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to work flexible hours, with a willingness to work within a rotating roster
