Job description

DISABILITY SERVICE MANAGER

We are looking for a vibrant, proactive and motivated Disability Service Manager to join our HHCC team. As a Disability Accommodation Manager you will have a pivotal role in overseeing the implementation of the business plan and its related projects. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in disability accommodation services and project management expertise. The successful person will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget. You will be responsible for leading and supporting your team within the organisation, maintaining effective communication with clients, families & stakeholders.

MAIN DUTIES

  • Coordination of daily operations across all SIL & SDA houses, Community Access support and Day Program
  • Manage the day to day operations and administration of all projects
  • Support the development of specific proposals and budgets
  • Act as the central contact and project coordinator for internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate internal resources and third party relationships for the execution of projects
  • Establish delivery processes and procedures to be implemented
  • Support participant expectations, track participant feedback and implement positive changes.
  • Attend disciplinary meetings with HR and Executive Business Manager
  • Oversee Nationally NDIS participants to build capacity to coordinate their NDIS plans, negotiate appropriate support and services
  • Review service delivery policies
  • Provide leadership, guidance and assist in day-to-day management across the organisation among all the areas of current services being provided
  • Ensure support workers, managers, coordinators and team leaders are trained to complete all duties as required and to ensure that a process is established for effective participant support in accordance with Schedule of Supports or Individual Care Plan
  • Management and reporting of all NDIS reportable incidents and maintaining compliance, overseeing and driving implementation of the requirements outlined from reportable incidents or restrictive practices and its reporting.
  • Ensure all reporting obligations are met regarding NDIA and other industry standards
  • Weekly meetings with Director, COO and with other staff members
  • Develop a Structured Activity Plan which aims to improve the quality of service for individuals across organisation
  • Regular visit across Service Delivery Areas is an integral part of the position
  • Strengthening the knowledge, culture, and collaboration within each service delivery area.
  • Monitoring and addressing the monthly Key Performance Indicators set by HHCC for each of the service delivery areas.
  • Fulfill other duties as required by Director and COO
  • Commitment to continuous improvement principles and adherence to the set quality standards
  • Ensure that all staff understand clients' human rights, and support them in ensuring their rights are upheld
  • Providing Management and guidance to Disability & Mental Health Support Workers, Team Leader, Service Coordinators/Program Coordinator & Housing Coordinators
  • Manage customer/participant expectations, track participant feedback and implement positive changes. 
  • Build partnerships with external providers and key stakeholders
  • Ensuring a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with NDIS Quality Safeguarding Framework and HHCC WH&S systems, policies, and procedures

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  1. Relevant qualifications in management and disability, health or welfare
  2. Previous experience in development and delivery of programs for people with an intellectual and developmental disability including from a culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) background
  3. Previous experience in delivering disability support services
  4. Previous experience running projects and delivering outcomes
  5. A passion and solid experience (up to 5 years) working in Disability sector either residential/respite services/SIL&SDA/Community supporting a range of people with a disability with an understanding of their complex need.
  6. In-depth knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) and Supported Independent Living (SIL)
  7. Ability to work flexible hours to suit the needs of the service and the people we support. Flexibility and mobility to undertake business travel as required to fulfill the requirements of this position
  8. Required to hold a NSW driver’s license (P2/full)and First Aid Certificate (or be willing to apply for one). As we work with vulnerable people, the successful candidate will also be required to undergo a Police Check
