Disability Support Worker

• Day-to-day Client support , Face to Face Client support 
• Assist with domestic & house hold duties: Cooking, Washing, Ironing, House cleaning, Shopping, Banking etc
• Assist with self-care, general hygiene, and personal presentation
• Transport Client to and from appointments - attend as required
• Encourage independence in daily living activities, where appropriate
• Assist with the integration and the active involvement in the local community.
• Assist with transport and accompany the person on outings and activities (may include support to use public transport).
• Undergo all staff training and Client personal training
• Have the capacity to meet the physical requirements of the job that may include manual handling tasks
• Have good computer, communication and interpersonal skills
• Have flexibility to work on a 24/7 rotating roster which includes days, evenings, awake shifts, sleepovers and weekend shifts

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• High level of initiative & great problem-solving skills. 
• Have demonstrated an ability to view people with disability as valued individuals with human rights.
• Are committed to a person-centered approach.
• Certificate in disability work, aged care or desire to obtain.

• NDIS Worker Clearance (or be willing to obtain)
• Current First Aid Certificate with CPR (or be willing to obtain)
• National Police check obtained within the last 12 months.
• Valid Driver license, and access to reliable, registered & fully Insured vehicle.

• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an exemption. (proof required)
